A Weekend Guide to Las Vegas

Where to Stay + What to Do + What to See

I like to think of myself as an expert when it comes to Las Vegas. I have visited so many times that I’ve lost count! I even graduated from Sierra Vista High School – Go Mountain Lions! When it comes to Sin City, I have an extensive knowledge of fun things to do, great food to eat and awesome things to see.

Whether it is your thousandth time or first, here are some tips to doing Vegas the right way.

Venetian Hotel and Casino

Where to Stay

The Venetian Las Vegas – Perfect for those of you who secretly wish you could head to Italy, the Venetian is absolutely stunning! The Venetian is filled with beautiful, Italian decor that makes you feel like you’re on top of the world. It’s also home to some of the most beautiful art and architecture in Vegas; St. Mark’s Square, Renaissance Venice, Another Sky, and many more!

This resort not only has large rooms with plush and classic decorations, but a casino, great dining, shopping and gondola rides over man-made canals that travel in and outside of the hotel.

Tropicana – Strapped for cash? The Trop is looking better than ever thanks to a multimillion-dollar renovation that has enlivened the casino and open-air pools, added more bars and restaurants and re-envisioned hotel rooms with sexy Miami style. The hotel has been able to do all this while keeping rates extremely low!

For discounted room deals, sign up for promotional emails on the website, or follow the Trop on Twitter and like it on Facebook.

XS Nightswim

What to Do

Turn Up (or Chill) at the Pool – Depending on what time of the year you go, Vegas can be extremely hot! Beat the heat and head to a pool party. Nestled next to the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Daylight Beach Club is the place to be. Daylight features a 4,400-square-foot main pool, 70 daybeds, 25 cabana and bungalows, and six LED screens spread across a 1,500-square-foot stage.

Don’t worry if you can’t handle the heat, XS Nightswim will keep you cool in the 90+ degree evenings. If you’ve never been to an XS Nightclub Nightswim party, you are missing out! Each and every year they set attendance records because they bring the top DJs. There is no dress code for Nightswim events. Feel free to wear pool attire or nightlife attire. Everyone is encouraged to jump in the water! Don’t forget your floaties!

Fremont Street Experience – Check out downtown if you feel like getting away from The Strip! Fremont Street is the second most famous street in Vegas – home to the Golden Nugget and scenes of many movies. Slotzilla, Zipline through Fremont, 80’s video games with bottle service and the Mob Museum are just some of the attractions at Fremont.

Go Clubbing! – Haven’t you seen The Hangover? Vegas nightlife is legendary and is the cause of many great nights among friends. Go dancing, enjoy good music and celebrate life at one of the many clubs on The Strip. Drai’s Nightclub atop The Cromwell Casino is a multilevel indoor/outdoor club that makes you feel like a VIP while providing stunning views of the stars and the Las Vegas Strip.

Inside Mandalay Bay you’ll discover a nightlife experience that truly shines – Light Nightclub. The first-ever club from the creative minds of Cirque du Soleil, Light is one big crazy party. The entertainers here have incorporated aerial acrobatics and dance into themed tableaus with high-tech visuals, costumes and makeup. Everything these performers do is tied back to the featured DJ set. Just remember – What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!

NOVE Italiano

What to Eat

NOVE Italiano – An ultra fine dining Italian establishment with an incredible view of Las Vegas? What’s not to love! Located at The Palms Resort off of the Strip, NOVE was rated one of the best Italian restaurants in Las Vegas. Enjoy Marlon’s Surf n’ Turf or the NOVE’s Signature Ravioloi and finish with the best tableside cannoli you’ll ever have! Don’t forget the wine.

Gordon Ramsay Steak – Inside Paris Las Vegas Hotel, you’ll actually find a little bit of London! Chef Gordon Ramsay opened Gordon Ramsay Steak in 2012 and brought some of the best food in all of Las Vegas. Enjoy the best cut steaks under the Union Jack Flag as you sip delicious wine ordered from your table’s iPad! Fanccccyyyyyy!

Guy Fieri’s Vegas Kitchen & Bar – Feel like gettin’ a little weird? Guy Fieri’s located on The Strip inside The LINQ Hotel is an extreme, American exploding, culinary experience. Sure it’s probably a filled with fat on sugar on fat, but isn’t that what the US of A is all about? Try the Motley Que Sandwich or the Bacon Mac-N-Cheese Burger, and don’t forget to finish off with a s’mores monte cristo!
